Setting up a successful autoblog means following some well worn best practices and when you do, you can expect your blog to stand the test of time.

One of the misconceptions many setting up successful autoblogs make is that they simply generate tons and tons of free content to their site and the traffic tap will suddenly turn on and they will be inundated with visitors.

This is not true and the reality is, if you can attract several hundred visitors to your blog of a targeted nature, then you have the foundations of a site that will continue to gather momentum over time provided you have set it up correctly.

Let’s take a look at some of the things you need to know.

Setting Up An Autoblog

#1.. One of the first things to avoid is filling your blog with light content. In other words, avoid using sources such as Yahoo Answers. Now Yahoo Answers is a great service and has a big following but as content for your blog, it is a little light on and looks a little spammy. Remember, a lot of “Blackhatters” use this type of content to blast onto their sites and it’s really being picked up now by the major search engines so avoid it.

#2.. You need to use content from a variety of sources. Some of the best we’ve tested over a long period of time include article directories, Yahoo News, You Tube, blog networks and Amazon. Yahoo News is powerful and unlike Yahoo Answers, it’s content is updated regularly and is not the same stuff everyone else is using. And Amazon is powerful as not only does it give you content but it also gives you links back to Amazon that have the potential to make you money.

#3.. You need to keep your content targeted. In other words, if your blog is about teddy bears then you don’t want to be putting automobile content on it. This is where a lot of people make a major mistake with autoblogging thinking “free content is free content” and it will get the search engines running. This is not true especially with Google who want to give their visitors a great end-user experience.

#4.. The final point you need to take on board is you need to set up your autoblog correctly. In other words, when it’s time to “flick the autoblogging switch” your blog needs to be ready to accomodate it. There are many course available on autoblogging and one of the best we can recommend is from the team at Extreme Cash Blueprint.
